Policy for Food being provided by parents for nursery
The nursery provides nutritional meals and snacks for all children who attend at a charge of £7.50 per session. These charges are for each funded session which is paid for via your invoice. This covers all meals, including breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks.
There is a table in your registration pack which explains this, but you can also speak to a member of the management team. These meals are cooked on the premises every day, using fresh produce.
This charge is voluntary and will be discussed at the show round and when you register your child with us. If you would like to opt out of meal charges, and are already paying them, you will need to give a term’s notice to do so.
As we care for children with a range of allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements, some being more severe than others, our food is prepared with this in mind and alternatives are provided.
On the Parent Agreement which you complete on the registration of your child, it will explain that the meal charge is voluntary, so you can choose to opt in to this or not.
If you choose not to opt in to having the nursery food, we have to take the allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements of other children into consideration.
When providing meals for the day, a full list of ingredients will need to be listed and provided each day it is brought in. Food provided will need to be clearly labelled with the child’s name and date on it. Meals must be balanced, nutritional and healthy.
We cannot reheat any food that is provided. If there are any children in your child’s room with a severe allergy, food will need to be discussed with the management to explain what will be able to be brought in.
The nursery is a Nut Free Zone. Any food containing nuts will not be permitted onto the premises. A conversation will need to be had with the staff in the office when you bring food in to discuss the items you are providing.
We cannot store the lunches provided in the fridges, so if you need to keep food cool, please provide cool flasks or bags.
As a nursery, we promote healthy eating. Here are some links to support this:
