Mary our cook works in our kitchen Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm.
Mary has completed her level 3 Food Hygiene training along with Allergy Awareness Training.
We are committed to healthy eating and ensuring that children have well balanced and nutritious meals here at the Nursery in Sidcup. All of our meals are prepared and cooked by Mary. We have a vegetarian option available on our menu daily.
We have worked with Bexley to achieve our Healthy Catering Award ensuring that our menu’s are well balanced, low in sugar and provide healthy choices for all children.
Twice a week our children also have starter before their main meal rather than a pudding afterwards to limit sweet desserts.
Children are offered fresh water throughout the day and cows milk/ oat milk is also offered at our snack times.
We provide a tailored menu for our younger babies under 6 months of age and work alongside parents during weaning.
We are aware of children’s individual dietary needs and ensure that we follow strict procedures to enforce food safety. The Nursery is also a nut free zone.
We have also been awarded a 5 rating in our most recent food hygiene inspection and fully implement Safer Food Better Business in our kitchen.
If your child has any dietary requirements or allergies please discuss with us when visiting the Nursery as this is something we are more then happy to go through with you in more detail.
All of the children also take part in weekly cooking sessions with Mary. The children get the chance to put on their aprons and chef hats and get creative with their cooking and baking.
