Our Pre-school cares for 25 children and offers a homely, exciting, challenging environment across two rooms, where we support children to be confident, outgoing individuals and encourage all children to value each other and their ideas and feelings.
We encourage the children to test their ideas, use their forever growing imagination and ensure that every child feels supported through every stage of their learning.
We continually implement all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage and plan fun and exciting learning opportunities to capture and challenge children, supporting them in their Journey through Pre-school and through to their transition into big school.
Our daily routine also focuses on children’s Emotional Resilience, supporting children to talk and express openly their own thoughts and feelings. Children take part in daily yoga sessions which supports their growing emotional regulation.
We also plan local outings and trips with our children and visit our Local BUPA Care home on a fortnightly basis where children spend time with the elderly singing, dancing and carrying out activities.
Our activities in Pre-school are based on firsthand experiences that encourage exploration, observation, experimentation, discussion, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making.
School readiness is a key focus, we implement sound of the week and focus on early writing skills, letters and sounds, mathematics and health and self-care skills.
Children take part in weekly Forest School sessions with our trained Forest School Leaders and also take part in weekly sports sessions with a trained sports coach.
We also hold an annual sports day with our children and families on the local green space.
We recognise the importance of the children’s educational journey and this is celebrated with our own pre-school graduation ceremony held here at the childcare Nursery for the children before they leave us to go on to school.
Our newly joined dedicated Room Leader Caroline has completed her Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and has over 14 years experience of in caring for young children.
