Our Investigators room cares for 16 children and offers a homely, exciting, enriched environment where children can develop their independence and have that extra challenge before they transition into our Pre-school.
Children are supported to become independent but at the same time, we understand that children at this age still need the care and nurture before they become independent little learners.
We plan fun and exciting opportunities for children to explore and express their interests. We support and encourage fundamental social skills which are supported in our daily routine including an understanding of rules and boundaries, turn-taking and forming positive social interactions in our family nursery .
Here in Investigators room, we focus on the seven areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Our daily routine includes creative play, storytimes, singing, curiosity play, yoga, letters and sounds and Makaton, mathematics and planned trips to our soft play area, garden and local outings.
Our daily routine also focuses on children’s Emotional Resilience, supporting children to talk and express openly their own thoughts and feelings.
Children take part in weekly Forest School sessions with our trained Forest School Leaders and also take part in weekly sports sessions with a trained sports coach.
Our dedicated Room Leader and Deputy Manager Rachel holds a level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and has over 16 years’ experience of caring for young children and 9 years’ service here at Premier Lodge Day Nursery.
